REGISTRATIONS
Change of address$20
WHAT TO BRING
  • Completed Address Change form MV-232
  • Your NYS driver license, permit or non-driver ID — or other proof of identity worth 6 points (see ID-82 )

DMV asks that you update your address within 10 days of moving. Updating your registration address also updates your title record.

Motorcycle / ATV / Trailer$50
WHAT TO BRING
  • Vehicle Registration/Title Application MV-82
  • Proof of ownership — the title signed over to you, or a transferable registration. Titles are issued for motorcycles 1973 and newer, and trailers 1973 and newer weighing 1,000 lbs or more
  • Sales tax: Statement of Transaction DTF-802 for a private sale or gift, or the dealer's certificate of sale
  • Proof of identity: a NYS driver license, learner permit or non-driver ID (current, or expired less than 2 years), or other proofs listed on ID-82
  • Insurance: an NYS insurance ID card for motorcycles. Not required for non-commercial trailers. ATVs need liability insurance to ride anywhere but your own property
Passenger vehicle$75
WHAT TO BRING
  • Vehicle Registration/Title Application MV-82
  • Proof of ownership — the title signed over to you (or, from a NYS dealer, the certificate of sale)
  • Sales tax: Statement of Transaction DTF-802 for a private sale or gift
  • Original NYS insurance ID card in the registrant's name
  • Proof of identity: a NYS driver license, learner permit or non-driver ID (current, or expired less than 2 years), or other proofs listed on ID-82

WHAT TO BRING
  • Completed Address Change form MV-232

  • Statement of Transaction DTF-802 — required for gifts and sales below market value
  • Vehicle Registration/Title Application MV-82

What documents should I bring?

It depends on the transaction. Tap any service in our fee list to see what to bring and download the forms, or call us and we'll make sure you only have to come in once.

No. Our listed fees are for our service. DMV charges and sales tax are separate, and we collect them in our office so you don't have to pay the DMV yourself.

Can I do this directly with the DMV instead?

Yes. These transactions are also available at no additional charge directly from the NY DMV at dmv.ny.gov. We're here for people who'd rather have it handled for them.
